The only reason I'm really putting this up is because I'm outright looking for someone who might be able to to draw a reference sheet of this particular monster.

Basilisk Project was a name given to a particular research organization in order to combine the strength of dragons with the resilience of insects. The serial 114Z3 dealt with a specific line of genetic coding regarding a recent discovery in Hybrid Genetics. In the many trials and errors of Prototypes 0000-0002 geneticists realized that using flying species of dragon would ultimately result in failure due to bone density vs chitin density. 0003 and 0004 contained the dragon's already mutable genus with that of the common garden variety mantis.

0003 and 0004 made it to early childhood stages before a severe form of necrosis began taking their limbs as well as spreading to vital organs. It wasn't until 0005 that Hominid DNA was added to the mix as a genetic bridge to keep cells stable. This newfound discovery caused Prototype 0005 to last until adolescence before an imbalance of growth hormones during sexual development caused cancerous growths to form within the haemolymph. Eventually 0005 had to be euthanized due to excessive cellular lysis of the organs and brain.

Finally with the mistakes of the past six experiments, Prototype 0006 was initiated. Geneticists voted upon a closed circulatory system as well as both an endo and exo skeleton. However, traits they could not control were certain endocrine levels as well as only being able to use a hybrid haemolymph containing mostly haemocyanin.

The fetus developed quickly, and in a few short years and occasional moults, the creature rapidly reached adulthood. It's genome was taken and preserved in the facility of which it was created and slated to be euthanized due to the lack of control over it's more basic instincts. High bidders were already on the line for a copy of it's genetic material in use for shock-and-awe guerrilla tactics by both black market and first world government.

However, while on the release to the gassing chambers, the facility guards heavily underestimated the creature's capabilities. Audio logs report the creature was fully capable of speaking common languages. The geneticists had intentionally gave the creature added brain capacity, roughly 3% more brain-to-body mass than the average human as they believed it was only directed towards fine motor functions of the tail, fins, and secondary limbs. This was fully incorrect as the creature bade it's time to actually copy the language of the tenders and keepers who fed it as well as take into account critical planning of it's escape.

Facility CEO's play off the insectoid's escape as nothing more than fear-mongering and slander in attempts to quiet the masses and intricate attempts of other Bio-Weapon Facilities to shut down another major competitor. Reports of terror amongst the neighboring rural areas suspect otherwise, and in the deep market a 5Mil USD bounty has been placed on the creature's head for proof of it's death.

114Z3, Prototype 0006 is still at large and suspected to be off-world.
