I wanted to write something with beautiful scenery.
I wanted to write something in a destroyed, desolate world.
As an afterthought I wanted to write a love story.
It's pretty short.
I've never written a 'love' story before, so please tell me how I did.
Also all the usual "tell me stuff you see that isn't as good as it could be."
For the second time I find myself inspired by
for the mood and overall theme of the piece.

"They are the scorch marks of the past, haunting the empty windows of yesterday's happiness." *reads it and melts* I'd say you did a good job with the beautiful scenery part. ^^
The sentence "It is painful in a deep, aching that seems held in his soul." felt like it might be missing a few words?
I think the romance theme worked. It's not approached from quite the typical love story angle, but since the characters seem pretty far toward the "real-animals" end of the anthropomorphic spectrum I think the minimalist approach is fitting.
Fun read here. ^^
