Had to end on 39, just had to end there... Was nice and neat, packaging each 5 chapters as a piece of the overall story in ebook format(to avoid either having dozens of individual chapters making a mess to navigate, or one part that would need to be removed and replaced each time a new chapter came out), but now this one only has four, and the first part of book 2 will have six!

Miscellaneous griping/joking aside, that was certainly an action packed chapter there, covering a lot of ground and prepping things nicely for the start of the next book.

Jinx was certainly thrown off, seems even she can be surprised at stuff, and her 'fix' was certainly quite impressive, almost toasty-ing that arrogant mage, and certainly doing so to his boat.

Fellirion seems to have come to just the person he needs to, with someone like that to really make him see what he could, or should, have been doing, might be able to break away from the cowardice of the rest of the council and actually do some good fixing the mess, rather than just a word here, a word there like he's been doing.

Things on the Kittywake are certainly going to be interesting for a while, lots of stuff to work out, from the injuries to Feral's actions regarding the staff pieces and how the others are going to react to them. Not to mention figuring out just what they're going to do with the staff pieces, kinda important that.

My aim recently has been to pick up the pace, cos I felt like I was getting bogged down a bit in dialogue and politics, nice to know that's worked out ^^ And I'm glad you like Leafelane, cos she's likely to become Fellirion's companion from here on. He needed someone who would talk back to him, give him a kick, and be his grouchy shoulder angel who makes him look twice at the people he's associated himself with.

Also Feral really has no idea what he's going to do with what he's just nicked - it just seemed like a good idea... All he knew was that powerful things were in the wrong place. Now he's got to figure out what to do with them xD

All the more reason why he needs to get everyone involved talking, he might not have any idea what to do with the pieces he grabbed, but one of the others might.

Trouble with Jinx's genuine combat skills - they're a bit all or nothing, hence she'd usually rather just tiptoe around and not be noticed ^^
