This is great. You're ahead of me as far as keeping dialogue off by itself for ease of reading. The only two problems I had with it were the tense (it kept flickering between present, and past tense), and the use of '2' instead of 'two'. Can't wait to read more-I like your characters. I like Zoland but I'm biased towards characters with 'Z' in their names hehe.
