there are always two moons in the skies of the Elder Scrolls games :o I don't think they're ever named though.

They do! Have you ever held a snake? They do feel really cool, and surprisingly soft. Different than anything else you'll experience. ^.=.^

I held a tiny snake once loooooooooooong ago when I was a kid on a school trip :o I remember it was really smooth

I also tried handling a boa once on the same trip....and fell over

The older female was super chill too. :3 The male bit me a few times to my recollection. XD

I never kept any snakes :o don't have the right equipment and I have a cat

I got the older female for my hatchday back in '05. Year or so later I acquired the male from a breeder in Indiana, and the youngest I got another year or so later from a reptile show in Taylor, MI. I had to get rid of them back in '08 when I went off to college though because I couldn't get anyone to feed them. :(

I would love to get a similar one, though mine own character isn't a mage in most aspects, but rather a wind and electric manipulator. So I'd love to see what kinda fun one could have with that.

Yea, Skal is able to manipulate the other elements as well, it's just that fire is his fave. :P
Think of The Elderwcrolls series magic. That's about how it works here, with a few more realistic twists thrown in and whatnot. ^.=.^

My character isn't one of TES universe, so his won canon doesn't follow the same rules, and his supernatural abilities are somewhat different in ways. But ti's a fun thing to explore in any way.

Oh I bet! I like to keep my character as "realistic" as possible when it comes to magic. I base the ruling off of the E.S. universe, but I also take influence from different fantasy novels that I've read; the Eldest series by Christopher Paolini for one, as well as many others and my own musings. Makes Skal less god-like. :P

Shoot, I could sit here for hours just explaining how Skal would cast different spells and how they would effect him, then explain why i think they would effect him that way. XD

I took a lot from the Inheritance books when I created my character, most notably how he is a magical being, but can't use magic on his own accord. And as someone who hates overdone and godmodded characters, which I've seen a good deal of, I strive to keep him somewhat believable.

That's interesting. It's been a long.time since I've read anything from that series, but I can't imagine why a magical being wouldn't be able to use magic, unless, as being a being of magic, it's his life force, so using magic would, in essense, kill him in the long run... Don't mind me. I'm just spitballing. XD

Yea, I can't stand thise characters myself, and even then it's so easy to fall into that "my character can predict and counter everything" sorta deal. Sometimes you've just gotta let them graciously take a hit or lose. Most people are too prideful to do that though. =/

I've been in many RP's where that has happened, I'm afraid. I always try to make such situations as fair as possible, though if you don't have a set rule for what your character can and can't do, it gets hard to decide if he should take hits or not. that's why I ended up friggin' making one. xD

As for the magic, well. He can't willingly choose to use it, but in certain situations, he will subconsciously use magic in some way or other. But I never use it as a Deus Ex Machina.

Oh i get it. I assume that it's adrenaline based. He cant use it on his own but in situations of extreme stress it just... happens.

I choose to put it in the "Extremes" category. It's very rare, and never something that would save his life from a direct threat, like a bullet to the face, like. For example.

Yea, the whole bullet thing is difficult when it comes to magic. Depending on how you do your wards and whatnot. Stopping a bullet with a ward isn't difficult, but getting the ward up in time, if it isn't already up, is the difficult part. Telekinesis on a bullet would be possible too, though taxing.

What's funny is that Skal here used to be a warrior. Sometime during Skyrim's release I feel in love with the mage and came up with a story as to why he changed. XD

Talkin' about TES. I would anyways choose knight(shield\sword) or berserk or heavy weapons. :D
And in my small universe there's no magic for me. :D

Also, i've tried playing as mage... Got killed at the beginning. XD
But my argonian berserk with daedric armor keeps chopping enemies like a frigging salad maker. :D The only trouble- dragons, cause they fly. D:

That's the prob you run into when RPing a magic caster. There arent any concrete rules for magic, and no one wants their characters hurt or beat, so they counter everything and gmod. =/

I try to be realistic about it. :D Skal has defined limits and I don't mind letting him take a few shots. :P

The only kind of "magic" i put into my small world- psychic abilities. :D All sorts of psychic abilities.
But still, my character don't have any of those either. XD

XD yea, psychic abilities are pretty reminisc of telekinesis.

But yea, without proper discipline even that can be OP. XD

Without discipline.they usually hurt themselves.
In my world they also become insane. Which is even more dangerous. So they(those who couldnt control their abilities) just get killed.
