Rainbow sure was before LGBT (because rainbow is a symbol of LGBT, not homosexuals only) and honestly, the fact that she's gay comes more from the fact how she acts around other women and from two episodes where she has very obvious crush on other two female very obvious lesbian characters. I'm not a MLP fan, but seriously this looked very clear to me.
She's not gay and it's not a fact....that's just a personal opinion of the character. I doubt they'd have a lesbian in a world wide show where christians can see it....bad idea....
