We have stone columns around the front and side of our house surrounding the wrap around porch. For the past 2 years we had hanging baskets out front and doves made nests in them both years. This year we decided we weren't going to have hanging baskets so that we wouldn't have the doves nesting under the porch. As you can see this did not stop them. This is the second of two nests made this year. The first one had two babies that grew up and flew away earlier this year leaving the parents to continue living there for a month or more. They finally left and stopped sitting on the nest and now another pair of doves have made another nest (in the opposite end on the porch) and seem to have little ones on the way. I guess we are just destined to have doves living with us.
