A Weight Gain story starring Maximus from Tangled.

Ever since the events that lead to him helping saving the kingdoms princess that was trapped by an evil witch while trying to catch a crooked thief Maximus, that previously was the horse to the captain of the guards, had now been promoted to become the new captain of the guards.
What that meant was that he was supervising over all the kingdoms soldiers and horses, making sure that they were all in shape and that their equipment was of the best quality. He made a system for patrols to walk around in the city at both daytime and nighttime to make sure that the streets was remaining safe for the town's citizens. He inspected and tested all kind of new weapons that was made by the city's blacksmiths to se if it was good enough for mass-producing. He show the other officers at meetings that he also was a very clever horse, showing that he could think out great battle strategy's to use in fights. He even invented obstacle courses and fitness programs to make sure that everybody was in the best shape possible, both men and horses. When he was done it didn’t exist any soldier or horse that wasn’t in perfect shape, except for one.
Him.
Being so busy doing all kinds of inspections, planning’s and approvals Maximus never really got a chance to do the same kind of training as his fellow horses, and that had the consequences of him becoming a bit more “unfit” then the others. Since all his work barley contained times of him moving from one place to the other Maximus body became very relaxed. The fact that the other things he did when not working was eating and sleeping didn’t help that much either. When he eats his body didn’t move enough to be able to burn the extra calories it got, and when a workday was done he was usually so tired that he just went directly to sleep, without taking a chance to look at the changes his body was going through. He didn’t either wear any saddles or other horse cloths when working in his new position, so he couldn’t feel how his growing body would have been making them sit tighter on him if he had worn them.
Even if he didn’t notice the changes of his body, everybody else did. All the soldiers and horses that where doing all their exercises and even the officers at the strategy meetings could see that Maximus wasn’t the same horse as before. To start with his neck was now much thicker and you could see a clear layer of fat making it bigger. His chest was puffing out and becoming wider by his weight. His legs while still being as thin and strong as of before, started to get absorbed by his fattening chest and belly. And speaking of his belly that was something. Like on all horses his belly was the number one sign that he was losing his shape. As is had gone from being one of his most toughest and muscle filled area, to simply becoming big, round, and wide. Lastly every time he leaved a room everyone in it was greeted to his fatted up behind, that was like everything else of him bigger, wider, and full of fat.
While everybody very clearly noticing it they where all very afraid to tell Maximus about it. Being well known as the horse who legends tells about defeated a bandit gang of 20 persons all by himself made everybody afraid of what he would do to the one dared calling him fat. Even though he now looked like he could barley run a couple of yards before getting himself tired nobody wanted to take the risks of upsetting him.
But they didn’t have to worry because Maximus himself would very soon discover it on his own.
