In the year 3850, the Earth colony of Clearskies played host to many alien allies including the rabbit-like Jade Jacks. Johnny Lajired was raised by humans and loved the circus, especially the knife-thrower act.

It wasn't long before he'd honed similar skills enough to get noticed by an elite band of Jade Jack melee weapon specialists called the Steeljacks. After months of rigorous training, young Johnny was honored to wear the Steeljack uniform, and earned a seat on an exploration vessel answering distress calls around the cosmos.

Somewhere down the line, a strange portal opened and Johnny found himself borrowed
from his time by the timestream troubleshooting organization known as the Ouroboros. There he was informed that his ship was about to become integral in the battle to keep the human race from being wiped out.

In their timeline, Johnny's ship had been destroyed because the crew was ill-prepared for the imminent battle. So, several crewmembers were selected by the Ouroboros group to train with the heroes of the past until they became ready to be sent back to their vessel of the future, hopefully able to turn the tide of the war.

Johnny carries standard issue Steeljack equipment, full of technology he's not allowed to share with other heroes. He carries the vibro-daggers of a Daggerjack class soldier, which vibrate at a high enough frequency to allow them to pass through solid matter and shock his enemies in unconsciousness without extensive damage.
