Colored Character Sketch w/Simple background for
The feeling of wandering around a garage sale or a flea market, and randomly stumbling upon a treasure you've ALWAYS been looking for, or didn't know existed, is indescribable. That feeling is being experienced here by
's kirin Chroma, as she unearths a rare record that steals her heart.
Drawing this hit really close to home, as a frequent flea market digger/vinyl hunter myself! I know these feels, man!
What do you think this record could be?

The image on the record reminds me of a cartoon series I think about a music school... think it was on the intro. Sadly I don't know the name and I might be wrong altogether but that's what sprung to mind when I saw it.
The expression on the character is very well done.
Keep up the great work.

Well I did some research on it and I found it. The cartoon was called Class of 3000. Here's the Intro:

Hmm, well while you don't see the exact theme, you pretty much nailed the form of the lead character in terms of proportions and clothes ( hat ), and it's a music record ( where he is a singer ) and so on and so worth.
I guess that's why it reminded me of that particular cartoon.

It's apropos, too, came back this afternoon with another motherlode of awesome LPs from the local animal shelter thrift store-- Henry Mancini, Mike Auldridge (bluegrass), Rimsky-Korsakov performances, Artur Lyman (in STEREO!), Ray Chales (not that Ray Charles) Singers, weird faddish stuff like 35mm magnetic tape recordings...
Seventy 12"/LPs in all. Well, at $1.00, it's a bargain, or so I tell myself. As usual, tons of stuff that was never reissued. The more thrift store music I discover at random, the better I am at findign good stuff quickly. :)
