So... there's a book series in which a retired Sherlock Holmes meets a girl who becomes his apprentice and eventually marries him. (Mary Russell series- Laurie R King)

Trust me, I was as completely beyond skeptical as any other Sherlockian at the beginning- thought I'd hate them.

WELL! I frickin' LOVED the series!

I wasn't gonna, but then I ended up drawing My German Shepard Sherlock with his AU wife. lol, I don't know what precise breed she is, but it had to be a bigger dog- she's nearly as tall as Holmes! And a northern sort of breed would likely be a good personality match, as they tend to be independant, intelligent, aloof, driven... Russell.

So these two are just enjoying a little, uncharacteristically calm, stroll to the chalk cliffs by their cottage, on a pleasantly, albiet windy, sort of day.
