I set my guitar in front of a fan, amplified it, then played with tension using my lovely GUITAR STEEL.
I essentially increased volume and added reverb, otherwise it's just the sound of a wind based harmonic vibration. This was rough and experimental, so there may be some sounds which get kind of high pitched and stuff. So don't listen too loudly, it's a soft track.
edit:
I forgot to mention.
This was also spurred on due to a recent project. For a farm I go to for drum circles and fire dancing meetups. They are trying to start a sustainable agriculture community. They already basically operate as a hub for various spiritual groups like pagans, witches, new agers, thelemites, and etc. etc.
The place has become a way for a lot of people to commune with nature. Well one of the crops they want to grow are barley and hops, obvious reasons. Well they're making a dome on the very top of the property (the highest grounds in the region), and cover it in vines. It's essentially a metal geodesic frame. Well when it's a planty walled enclosure it'll be used as a meditation space and little spiritual alcove on the top of the hill.
This is where I come in. I'm going to make or design (so they can make them if I leave before these are finished) aeolian harps. They'll surround the dome, probably in some specifically chosen number. 5 or 6 or 3 somethin like that. Well I'll tune each harp to be a chord on the pentatonic scale, as well as having pentatonic aeolian flutes at the top of the dome.
This will create a pleasant and nigh constant hum around the dome (it's windy up there), which will help to block out sounds and aid in meditation.
so...there ya go. Hopefully this will amount to being like a first art installation for me, and may set the ground work for future attempts.

Definitely. The harps themselves are very quiet. I was pretty much maxing the amp I was using to get this sound. Obviously this is from a soundboard not designed to produce as much sound as is necessary for aeolian harps but still...
The hope is that there will be a gentle hum of chime flutes and the very subtle harmonic tones and rhythms of the wind.
