Back then you had two choices of TV shows with superheroes. Adam West Batman, or The Green Hornet. My dad chose the Green Hornet back then, I picked it up, and loved it. Sure it hasn't aged well at all, but the original material leaps and bounds better than the movie remake.
Also Al Hurt did the fucking hot trumpet work. Also the name of the main hero Britt Reid is a decedent of John Reid in fiction. That's right. The Lone Ranger is the Green Hornet's great great you-get-where-this-is-going great grandpa.
