The problem, of course, is that she seems to have forgotten one thing.
The guy has a gun.
He is a member of a shadowy government organization tasked with keeping secrets from the populace.
She is a threat to his organization's aforementioned goal.
If this chapter doesn't end with Smuggy McTechieson having "disappeared", this obviously isn't a realistic depiction of how shadowy government agencies work. :P

Impressive use of the foreshadowing skills in regards to the story. Notice closely how the gun is panned in the final panel, but throughout all the others, it was never shown. Unless of course it was all just a coincidence that when he sat down, his coat just so happened to brush against hi leg and reveal the gun hidden beneath.
Which leave to question, what is he up to? The story intensifies.
