No one really knows this yet, (well, unless you guessed by some of my art!) but I have a growing passion for graffitti and street art.
There's a semi-local artist (were I came from in Rochester) who did GORGEOUS stencil art. It was amazing, and nothing short of one hell of an inspiration! (name is MrPrvrt if you're curious, he's online somewhere XD) I even had my friend buy a commission from him for me! ;^; <3
Anyway! I had tried stencils once or twice in the past, nothing too great, but since I was inspired I tried to really push it. This is the first of many detailed stencils I'll be tryng out!
Another use of the same snake - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/medigrunge/doubleheader.jpg
Gift for my friend Jessy <3

Sweet, you did the apples free hand and stenciled the snake?
A girl in my color class was just talking about starting up a graffiti thing this summer. I'm half tempted to go with her as I've been curious. Not into tagging so much but more the artistic expression and medium, like what you have here.

Yeap, the red sploches I did with the can close to the board and just let them drip all creepy. I stil have the snake stencil, it's delicate but has held up really really well.
If you're curious I say go for it! It's so much fun (I do most of it legally on boards and things I have around) and I can just tell you, it's such an odd free feeling, I get uphoric when I finish something.

hell yes! :D i'm kind of interested in stencils myself, but I'm a little paranoid about tagging out here, from what i've heard the cops are really trying to crack down on graffitti.
what's really strange though is there is an art store catering just specifically to graffiti art, they sell all kinds of spraycans and materials for stencils and other "urban art," haha!

very interesting. I say, keep the snake stencil, it might come handy one day. :)
there are times and places where graffitti art looks beautiful. in my hometown there are several places, mostly underpasses and subways, dedicated to graffitti artists which then proceed to cover the boring concrete with pictures of great diversity. (tagging there is unwanted of course, but there are always those who refuse to understand). some other graffitti artist places flowers randomly on lamp posts, or adds lil' birdies or fishes somewhere approbiate.

I've used him a few times now too, it's holding up really well for as many times as I've sprayed on it :D
I like that sort of graffitti art myself really, haha I had a friend who did get caught but releived of her charges for "painting flowers on an otherwise boring wall"
