Otters of the Asian small-clawed variety, on their way to a new exhibit at an aquarium in California. You can't imagine what a treat it is to have the undivided attention of four otters at once. I think they were hoping I had squid.

Is it at the Long Beach Aquarium? I saw a few otters there last time, look so joyful.

Nope, further North. I'd drop the name, only I'm not sure if it's supposed to be hush-hush or not. Yes, otters seem to exist in a state of perpetual enthusiasm.

Just got lucky. A good friend of mine has a sister who works part-time at a local zoo, and I was invited to come backstage for a peek at the otters before they were moved to their permanent digs.
