I have done some fine tuning to Pamela and given her a coat of paint on the stock. More paint will come soon, but for now I like how this came out. I also gave the bolt carrier a coat of aluma-hyde as well, but this made the bolt too sticky so I am dealing with that at the moment. No fear, fixed soon enough.
Won;t be giving a list with this one because it's basically the same as the original Pamula

Mag catch needs to be fine tuned still, it was dropping the mags now it's too hard to get them in lol, Then the gas system needs a little work to get the bolt moving fast enough, I think that was caused by the coating I put on the bolt, once that wears in i will see how it goes and what needs to be done there. Other than that, just esthetics, I want to make the rifle as smooth and clean running as possible, high speed low drag and all that
The Stock comes with a press forward lever but under that it is a pull back lever (I modified the original part is that helps at all) there is an SKS which takes Ak mags out of the box but I couldn't find one so I decided to try and make it work myself. If I can;t make this work I was going to try to design and mill out my own part which would allow me to use an AK style lever mag release, but that is a lot of work *chuckle* and would like to avoid it if I can.
It's actually a very good trigger, reset is a little iffy (kinda weak) but that is only in dry fire, I don't notice it when firing. it uses a wire system rather than a rod so it is feels like the trigger I installed and modded (just a little clean up on the American made parts)
I was taken to the range. he brought the SKS and his AK. I got to fire both.
at 50 yards I could NOT hit the target with his AK. maybe the sights were off, maybe the sights worked differently than EVERY OTHER RIFLE I have ever fired...
but I fired 60 rounds and I never hit the dixie plate I was aiming at.
I picked up his SKS, fired 60 rounds, and had 60 holes near the middle of the plate.
*shrugs* that's the only time I've fired either the AK or the SKS. and of the two, I'd take the SKS any day of the week. firepower is nice, but hitting your target is more important, in my opinion.

lol, a stock SKS is actually more powerful than a stock Ak, same cartridge, longer barrel. I like the Ak over the SKS because when built right it can be just as accurate and is easier to reload and maintain. (Mine is modified to take AK mags so one of the problems is out, but it can still be a problem even now, I have still some fine tuning on my mag catch to do to make it 100%)
The sights on the AK and the SKS are actually the same, as they are on most Russian rifles, but the AK is such a slapped together gun usually that any accuracy it might have is completely taken away. (not an overly accurate gun or cartridge to begin with)

lol, I was going to build a pulse rifle which fired 10mm Mag, I could just never find the parts needed. I would have to mod a receiver and have custom mags made which killed it pretty much and then the impossibility to get 10mm mag ammo also killed the Idea. I wanted something which would fit better into the full length mag of the original rifle.
