I live in SoCal he deals with it fine, if you get one just be sure to take water with you, keep your house cool and get ready for them to sleep under an air vent and never have their fur cut seeing as it will just grow back thicker and longer then only making hat problems worse.
In Colorado, my mal got a fan he could camp out in front of whenever he got too hot for his puppy britches. He was a giant, beautiful sweetiesnugs. ^^ He went nuts when he got to experience his first deep snow to burrow through. He would just plow through it with his face. x3
Shaving a Husky or Malamute should result in capital punishment. Their fur regulates their body temperature and tells them when it's too hot or too cold. You shave it all off, and then they cannot regulate the temperature, and they end up with hypothermia or heatstroke, and then they will die. So don't ever shave them.
I see your Doge and raise you a Beagle Puppy! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13148095/ :3
Aye, he looks like a terrific fellow, going to be big too! I am a bit jealous, I must admit.
After I lost my Hans (GSD) I visited 2 Malamute breeders and 2 Husky breeders. I have a weakness for snow dogs, Mutes especially.
I couldn't get near another wet nose without shaking so I thought I would try to avoid getting close again.
In the end, my mother offered me a tri colour collie pup when I came to visit for xmas.
I couldn't say no to his mouthy little face, tearing lights off the tree, and biting the shit out my fingers. Turned out to be the best flatmate ever.
Enjoy your new friend.
