I've got an audio production class at the moment, finally delving into that strange side of art known as 'music' and 'audio'. Its an alien landscape... I'm completely out of my depth here. I've never done audio work, hell, I've never even owned a microphone for my computer till a month or two ago. So, this foray into ProTools is totally strange for me.

This is my multi-track project. I'm really just required to put at least five tracks of sounds together with some processing. I choose to do a 'sound scape' rather than music, because I've never written music either, just played it.

These sounds are of what I think night time by a road would sound like. It's 1:20 minutes long and in it you'll hear crickets, frogs, an angry porcupine, playing raccoons, an owl, wind in the grass, and the low rumble of traffic. I've added some reverb and decay, but its not that noticeable. So you know, I recorded the traffic with a Fostex and all the other sounds are from SFX CDs and free for student use. No part of this came together, it was all separate and compiled by me.

I kind of enjoyed it, though working with sound really isn't my thing and I'm still real new to it. Anything that's not visual leaves me kind of flopping around like a fish out of water. x3
