good lookin gut!

Still love this piece of yours, especially since instant weight gain is one of my faves. Mind if I ask how you're able to do the shading without it standing out so much? I try to do that sometimes by lowering the opacity, but it ends up looking pale and flat most of the time. = w="

The weight gain pill concept reminded me of a guy on that certain site who iirc took some pills for his backaches, even after he didn't need them because one of the side-effects was weight gain. It was in the description, though he wasn't willing to share what it was.

Usually to make the color pop more, I shade with a low chroma or saturated color, using a higher chroma for lighting. I also try to use a hint of the high chroma's compliment in the shading. For basic shading like this image, I generally just change up the layer's modes. Actually the skin tones you see here are all the same color, but on a separate layer, in multiply mode which darkens the tones, I applied the shade. Also, to make it pop a little more, I use 3 tones instead of just two for the skin. High, middle, & low. The highest tone is a little subtle in this image. But anyway...i hope this helps! I suck at explaining things sometimes. D: I'd make a horrible teacher.

I see, I'll have to try that out sometime because I usually use warm/cold dark colors but don't really add middle ones most of the time (just blur em up a bit or in a few of the latest ones I've posted elsewhere, used the water brush in Sai). No prob, I'm no good at explaining stuff either .w.

Ah alright. Funny thing is I found him last night and I wasn't even looking for him xD Seems he's still on there and growing, his belly looks softer than I remember! Yeah, those pills sound like heaven. I'm still curious about them, so I tried looking up the side effects again last night and finally found some medications that have similar ones (though the ones I found have some bad side effects too, so I doubt those are the ones he's using).
