Commission for Kawa! Super cute idea from him huhu C:! His river otter character finding a sunken surprise while on a visit to the ocean.
I don't think I've srsly tried to draw an underwater scene since, oh, Grade 4 maybe :p? Fun one to try and learn new things with :). Larger version on Weasyl as well!

I love how the bubbles, the fish and the seaweed all contribute to a really amazing sense of movement in this piece! The suble glow of the water on his fur and the gold as a secondary light sourse keeps my eye moving and very interested! I adore the approach to the background, making it look very story book like and the light patterns from the water on his shoulders and the sand are extremely well done! Over all I can't find a thing I dont like about this piece! The character is adorable, the concept is wonderful and the execution couldn't be better.
