This is a character I made of a mix between 'coon and 'roo. (Thus the name -original aren't I?) XD
This was created for a Sci-Fi RP and kinda grew from there. The orginal character design was poor, but interesting. So I did some digging and made up this! Yes, he can hop like a roo. He is also a tree-climber (smaller compact body to off set the legs.

Oh I am hoping to finish him. Gah. He makes ME droole. :) Hmmmn. Maybe this'll be the one to break me into "other arts", he is just so scrumptious. Who knows?
Any thoughts on teh hands? That's currently what's stopping me. The rest of the piece is SOOO nice, but the hands just don't want to be drawn. Can't get a finger (heh pun intended) on it. :)

Maybe extend the top part of that near hand up some more, so that the knuckle is more visible, and it's wider overall.... don't know if that makes sense.
The hands aren't bad, they're positioned right. That near one might just be a bit small, and maybe the fingers aren't curved enough, depending on what he's resting against.
He's too scrumptious to be stopped by his hands! XD

The pillar behind him is going to be a tree, they are a tree dweller species. ;) Partly. There are huge Monster reptiliods on the ground that eat them, so they tend to stay in the trees.
In the far hand are vines that act as a partial screen (like a privacy screen). In the BG will be other trees, wines and small constructions. I just didn't want to work too much on the bg before I resolved the hand issue. :P Too easy to erase bg elements on a character oober ya know?

And yes the females have pouches, and the males genitalia are closer to their tail bases, much like kangaroos. ;)
The one thing that has me wondering is if I should add nipples. Kangaroos are not mammals, but racoons are. o.O I've never actually figured that part out yet.

Well, kangaroos are marsupials, but they do nurse their young (albeit inside the pouch) ...so if they had nipples they probably wouldn't be visible. So i think, anyhow.

It sounds like descending from the canopy to hunt one of those large reptiles would be a rite of passage for adolescents! This guy looks tough.
