Okay, I still don't understand what I'm seeing and llooking at the artists own work didn't help matters much. What is all the black stuff? In both pictures, it looks like a soul or some other little demonic creature, but then, it looks like it's connected to him as well, but it's way too bizzare to be his claws....

it can be count as a "black heart" or some kind of evil living inside of him (almost like in the alien movies just in this case the lil demon thing is a part of the body)
