Well, if you hadn't seen it already, this was the picture that I drew for the trade with
MikeDavins
Mikes' a great guy and I was happy when he was into the idea to do a trade. Originally I asked because I was going through some more artist block and thought this would be a great thing to get me going. I found out soon that we both ended up putting an overly excessive amount of work into these for each other.
It was fun as hell talking about how far we each were coming the last couple weeks. The closer we got to finishing the more excited I was getting. Today's unveiling of each other's work was like all Christmases coming at once.
Plus I got to throw in some Silent Hill style backgrounds which I thought was pretty cool.
I really hope you guys have enjoyed both of our pictures. And again, please give MikeDavins and visit if you haven't before.

Dude, words aren't enough to tell you how much I love this. But I'm going to give it a try either way. My hands on my keyboard keep freezing because every time I try to gather my thoughts into something to say, there is too much. Anyways to the drawing! I apologize if it seems like i'm just reading the comic. I'm just soo into it right now. All questions you see are rhetorical.
The expression you gave Mike, he looks so.. what's the word? Devilish, and when sporting that halo and acting sly, well it fits perfectly to why he's still stuck here on Earth, he isn't a good angel. Mike has the face that a confidant man would have because he knows he cannot possibly lose in the scenario. While he is stabbing between his fingers, he grins and laughs at the thought of what he plans to do.
I really adore the second panel, it was both adorable and violent. They both got cute booster seats to sit on, but they are talking about playing that knife game. Mike is an all around guy, and so is Pash, so I mean how could they both not agree to do this. I can only assume Mike was doing this in the first place to show to Pash that this would be an easy thing to do. But Pash, it seems determined, so why not give it a go? Nothing to lose right? Mike seems too confident about this.

Whoops that's not all.
Well looking on panel three. Pash was totally going to do it, and at full force and speed. Much like Mike. Cept' apparently Pash didn't raise the knife high enough because it manged to slice off every finger. I give Pash props for not quitting after the first cut, it just kept on going, haha. The face Pash is making in this panel, is both hilarious and makes me feel like saying "haha, why did you keep going??!". Did a little blood spurt out far enough to actually land near the base of his beak, man that's a ugh thought. Well, Pash said it'd do it, and did. We all hoped it wouldn't have ending so brutally, haha.
Last panel. Mike has that smile, that toothy smile. Haha, it's like he knew that would be the result. No wonder his halo isn't shining bright right now, he tricked(?) Pash into cutting itself. I can only think Mike is letting off small chuckles there, thinking "I can't believe you did that". And my gosh Pash is so right to be a little pissed with Mike, because this totally wasn't fair. Pash looks ready to throw that knife at Mike, but it's just hit the chair behind him, and thankfully Pash will recover fairly quickly. I can only imagine which one of them said to come over and hang out at Heavens Night. Thinking more canonically, I'd think Pash invited Mike. Or Mike, being the socialist he is, came up with a booster to chat with Pash.
Okay, I got a little theory as to how this might have began. I know I'm wrong, but this is what I got. Pash invites Mike somehow (maybe heard him spiritually), and came over to a strip club, why not? Pash and Mike would seem to have a lot to talk about, Mike likes to talk to interesting people because he isn't at all, and Pash is probably full of stories with what how long it's been here to tell MIke. At one point after talking about knifes, I guess Mike did ask about how Pash survived all this time in a secluded area and wanted to see if this was all true. So Mike being slightly sick minded, asked Pash to play the knife game, and it rightfully said no. However with a little tell and show, Mike convinced him, leading to this. Haha, I can only imagine how the conversations were like.
My theory as to how the epiloge would go is that Mike is either told to leave, or Pash leaves due to Mike's rude behavior (seriously, his halo should've dropped right at the end). Or they both say, get a beer, talk some more, then do the knife game again, but with the other hand. I'm sure Pash wanted to punch Mike at the end, but because Mike is a ghost, the fist would go right through, or maybe it'd actually land and send Mike soaring to the wall, with his halo still stuck where he sat, spinning around before falling.
All in all, this is something a friend would never dare another friend to do. But this is DEFINATLY something a best friend would do to another best friend. One is angelic, the other invulnerable. One is super chill and approachable, the other is deadly and feared. One is free to roam the world, the other is stuck inside an expanding house. But with all that, they see past, and will be friends to the end, supporting one another, helping one another. Encouragement, and unwavering kindness and laughed off violence. This is what being a best friend is all about. The best part is thankfully neither will have to worry about going to the other's funeral.
I also really like the background environment, it's all real gritty and does fit perfectly with what these two are doing. A dark and vacant place is indeed the most fitting for these birds. The walls do look like they has some time been rotting away, the dirty old papers may indeed confirm it. I also like the resturant styled chairs they are sitting in, they are real bring and do mix perfectly with the characters and environment. I also love that they both need a boost to actually be at perfect height. It's a good thing they have napkins ready for what happened, although the salt could be used first so hilarity may ensue. That knife too, far away it looks rather cartoony, but up close, man does it look dangerous. I even like the little trail of blood it leaves behind in panel three, makes a person squeamish (if that's how you use that word). I also must say I love the coloring you did on them. It's both simple yet very pleasing to the eye. The corners on their feathers and sharp and small, making it look like they have a fluffy feel to them. Of course no one would want to touch em'. One you can't, and the other will garrote you if approached wrong. Seriously those expressions, they are all amazing and incredibly animated! It was so easy to fun to tell what they were thinking. Those little splats of blood and grey on the counter, adds alot to the effect of this piece. There is enough blood to show that it was defiantly painful, and showed bone too! So Pash was not going soft, it was stabbing as hard as it can. The books, they have that look to them I enjoy, like you aren't suppose to really focus on them, but they are pretty eye catching. Like what kind of books are they? Where did they find them, was it in the box Mike is sitting on? Haha, love thinking about it. Maybe it was just stuff they found around the place. Also I'm sorry for not getting the reference, are looking it up, I know why. It's from silent hill, I really should play that game sometime soon, but how it relates to this picture is pretty fun. Apparently they aren't in a bar, but an old strip club. Now that's gold, no pretty dancers, so why not just dare each other to mutilate ourselves? Perfect. You even got the old cartoon smacks in the first panel where Mike is stabbing the table. Looking at there legs, I like how you got Mike's talon's sort of ready to grab onto anything, just as a parrots would. And I forgot, darn it, that Pash had slightly curvy nails. Also I enjoy the little chest feathers you gave to Mike, it did make it easier to tell where his chest was and ended, as well as how well you drew his halo. I don't even put that much time onto his halo, but you did, and I appreciate that.
I'd like to thank for you for giving me the chance to trade with you. You being the second person I followed about 8 months ago (almost a year, whee!) because of your amazing artwork as well as your character I've grown to admire. I was shocked to near pale white when you offered. I couldn't have said yes faster. To see our characters interact this way is jaw dropping. Thanks for the offer, even though this took three weeks and was a rough ride, I loved every moment of it. I probably don't want to do something this big again for a while, maybe smaller. However I hope in the coming year, we can do this again, maybe it'll be bigger, maybe smaller. We both might've improved by then, I know you will, I'm not sure about myself. Thanks again, this was truly the funnest thing I've done here. Thanks, man. Your a good friend. I'll be happily waiting for the new submissions.

I was going on a comment spree because I had been offline the last 24 hours. I accidentally almost forgot about your comment here, lol.
But yeah, this game (in a weird way) is kinda fun. A real badass would use a steak fork. Haha double pronged. Just since we're on the topic- me and a group of friends once pretend to play Russian Roulette with a Nerf Revolver toy pistol. It sounded like it would be boring, but after passing the toy around it actually got really hilarious. We would play until it was just two of us left and then the winner would uhh.. play again I guess? We never planned that far ahead.
