So today was my day for a dentist appointment~ things went normally(aside from some pain now.. ;3; ))finally got out and decided to get myself a bottled water. But that moment changed completely~ there he was, at first I thought he was a wolf dog mix, but when I asked the species~~ found out he is wolf. I mean……WOW, to be able to see a wolf that close, pet him, and even hang out besides him, and how large he was? As big I was! :O
This day is one of those once in a lifetime experiences. I felt so calm, I felt a great respect for him like none other. Just…………wow. I will hold this day close to my heart. :3
I have a few other pics I might load of him~ if anyone wants that.

Depending on the subspecies, wolves can get as big as bears.

Exactly. I've been around wolves and wolfdogs in my life and he just says 'wolfdog' to me. I think it might be the doggish happy look he has. Wolves can have the expression too and they hardly ever jump in front of strangers like this. They're very standoffish unless they have been thoroughly socialized from puppyhood to adulthood. So I believe he could be a wolf, but it's highly unlikely... besides... you don't just walk a wolf with collar like that in public. XD You need at least a harness or something. LOL!
From what I learned~ yeah. I felt so calm, yet at peace getting to see him that close. I know normally a lot say" wolves shouldn't be captive, they deserve freedom, etc" and I do agree, it's just the experience of being there, and seeing him right there instead of in the sights far away in a tour or whatnot~ getting to be right by him was that made it so grand. Of course that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see them in the wild, because who wouldn't want a chance like that?
He was quite large~ big enough to take on a grown man easily head on.

This is quite disturbing, I don't know of the laws outside of the US - but inside it is absolutely illegal to own a wolf, and it's very hard to maintain an ownership of wolfdog mixes. A lot of cities ban then, and by ban - if they catch you with the wolfdog, you're getting a hefty fine and they wolfdog is getting destroyed.
I know for darn sure you cannot walk a full-blooded wolf on the streets, even if you have a exotic-animal's permit.
So, either this person is a poor owner and is negligent of the laws and doesn't care for his animal's safety, or just likes showing off his designer-animal.
Animal control will not run blood tests, especially if you flaunt around the "my animal is a wolf" card.
Either way, this is sad. Keep wild animals in the wild.

Yes, you say that, but do you have any pets? (I don't want to cause a fuss; just saying.) Dogs, cats, birds, even fish, they didn't just pop up in stores or on farms or in bowls because we moved into homes. Man domesticates things as a way to cope. You fear something, you want to befriend it. Get it on your side, may come in handy.. i.e rescue dogs..
I don't just say things out of my ass.
Humans domesticated "The wolf" ~15,000-30,000 years ago into what it is today.

Wolves, coyotes, foxes, ect. May look like our best friend "The dog", but they are anything but that. they are wild animals and need to be kept as such. They have instincts that will not treat you as a hierarchy in their order, but as a friend/foe/competition.
Wolves, especially, are very competitive with family members that they trust. They are very dominant creatures within their packorder (no matter the status of the wolf) and will constantly challenge a family member's ranking status within this pack.
A wolf is not a dog, this is what leads to humans getting attacked by their wolfdogs, because they treat them like designer animals and do not know how to handle them.
That's like trying to tame a crocodile.

Of course they deserve their freedom and space in the wild, but man will continue to be the dunce of a species it is. They'll keep killing, stealing land, and trying to tame what's wild. Exactly why most "I've got this cool wild pet" situations end up bad on both sides 90% of the time. The captive animal gets tired of being buggered around or acts on instinct and bam news headline: "So & so killed or severely harmed, unfortunately the animal had to be put down".
Humans may think they're too advanced for something that doesn't speak tongue or walk upright, but.. Let's see how far that gets us.. :/

From what I know~ he was here supplying up on essentials.
As for everything else, I don't know much about the situation or whatnot. I'm just surprised I had the chance to see this moment here and now. At the most, all we see around here are birds/dogs/cats and not much else.
