stormnobleheart. An unusual sequence showing his dragon hand-paws transforming into unicorn hooves... I feel like it might make a neat animation :3

Did someone say they wanted to see a gif of this? http://i.imgur.com/3TeobOM.gif
I should import these in sequence and see what it looks like in playback... Damn! The sequence already has such smooth motion in the keyframes, and really looks like the hands are being consumed from the inside out. You sure you don't animate? Or at least effects? You're already making changing patterns of light and dark and smooth arcs and everything. (Though there's no actual motion in the piece, so I don't know how that affects a critique of it.)
You've reminded me why I love this genre ^u^

actually, frame four would be how I prefer my paw hands in general, where the claws are thicker and more rounded, giving them more of a human appearance than claws of standard shape, and adding more to the whole "hybrid" feel. *shrugs* just advertising my preferences...
That said, yeah, I highly suggest animating this. you already have all the key frames you need... hell, with a single 'tween' frame between each of these key frames, you could probably pull off a smooth animation. also, with a little bit of tweaking, by making the frames jump back and fourth, staggering in progression (frame 1, then 2, then 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5, 6 etc...) you could create the illusion of throbbing or pulsating, as well as the illusion of resisting the change, or at least having it occur in a rougher, more violent fashion... not only that, it would stretch out the number of frames in the over all animation, allowing you to play more with the frame rate and adjust the speed of the transformation how you like.
the one danger I can see in trying to animate this, is the fur might not look right from one frame to the next, if the texture and placement of the hairs are too different from one frame to the next. admittedly, I've never tried this form of animation, so I can't say if its truly a pitfall or not.
Hell, if you or someone else doesn't at least try animating this, I might try it (given time and motivation... both have been in admittedly short supply for me)
thanks for sharing this! :D
