COST OF DOLL (from left to right)
Undead Horse Totem: $47.87
Screaming Abdab large: $46.48
Screaming Abdab mini: $21.50
WHEN WAS THIS DOLL MADE?
Oct 2013
WAS THIS DOLL A PROTOTYPE?
I likely did not get the first doll of this series with the exception of the undead horse as it was an OOAK
COMMUNICATION
all dolls were shipped promptly
DID THEY MEET YOUR DEADLINE?
fast shipping, no deadline.
HOW WAS THE ART DOLL PACKAGED?
each doll was carefully wrapped in their own product box AND inside a shipping box. so it was a box in a box which I feel is the best way to go :)
DID YOUR DOLL ARRIVE IN ONE PIECE?
dolls did arrive in one piece
WAS YOUR DOLL SEWN?
bodes were sewn, though upon inspecting the hard parts for the purpose of this review, for both minis i had an issue. For the one on the right its leg is threatening to fall off any day now (as it looks evident in the pic, you can tell that their legs aren't floppy) and the undead horse, its tail just peeled right off effortlessly. I have since re-glued it but I'm nervous re-gluing the other dolls foot since its so tiny. If the horse tail falls off again, I'm replacing it and sewing it on.
IS YOUR DOLL FLOPPY STYLE OR ARTICULATED?
all three are floppy style dolls.
STABILITY, IS YOUR DOLL STABLE?
These were designed to sit on their rumps and have steel shot to keep them upright.
DOLL DETAIL
the faces are just freaking charming! and the feet are abbreviated in a nice manner. The paint job for the undead horse is very nice which is why I fell in love with it. I love the realism in her skull art which is why I collected these as often as I could allow myself to afford. ^_^
FABRIC DETAILING
the fabric used was appropriate for the dolls look. The manes were attached rather seamlessly. Though the big guys glue on top of his head may have worn out as now its visible. That is easy to fix too.
MATERIALS
their materials are straight forward, resin casts (with the exception of the undead horse) and minky fabric with some realistic faux fur
WOULD YOU BUY FROM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND?
I would definitely buy the big Abdabs again though I feel that the minis may be just too mini to have all their parts glued on like that. My guess would be that the surface area is just too small for the glues strength.
FINAL SCORE 4/5

Fab to have this review! The abdabs were designed to be produced quickly and cheaply (compared to most of my work) in response to public opinion, so corners are cut here and there (RE gluing the tail rather than sewing it). I haven't made many since these as they're a special Sept/Oct only release, but when September comes around again I'll definitely be reviewing how the legs are attached/what they are attached with. :) Thank you!
