Looks like he's sold! wow!!! :3
DUN DUN DUN A LEOPARD PARTIAL. WAT. WAT.
WAT
Long story. I was working on a khajiit set of blanks. and we were thinking I use my snow leopard blank. so I tested one out on my own khajiit character. But after patterning I just realized with my ocd self that no way... no way was that good enough for a khajiit shape. so I ripped it apart. and was like. well I have this base ... It looks like it would make a great leopard! Plus it could give me a GREAT GREAT OMFG GREAT opportunity to go wild on some airbrushing skills! I like every suit I make to be a learning experience :3
So I got this guy! Also one of the first times I use taxidermy eyes on a mask! WAT
Here's a video (that is very yellow I'm so sorry) of the mask and gloves in action! http://youtu.be/lHCY_PWMNT8
I started the bid high this time as I rarely get something like this ready to go. and feel I spent a lot of effort detailing this guy!
Head~ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13192425/
*Made off of my own snow leopard resin blank (edited)
*taxidermy eyes that do not follow
*moving jaw!
*resin nose
*5V fan powered with 2 AAA batteries(fan pack is in the chest fur area for easy reach)
*Silicone tongue, Lower jaw cast with realistic tooth color (no top jaw piece!)
*screen mesh vision ports. lovely vision!
*Will fit a head size 23
*moose hair whiskers. (please be careful with these whiskers)
*Fosshape ears!
*large tooth zipper in back (cream colored) easy zipping!
Gloves~
Should fit most hands. They fit my hands and also my boyfriend's larger hands! They're super comfy!
*not lined. But edged!
*Pawpads are semi faulty. Have some bubbling on the backing/ edge of some pads. But shouldn't be too bothersome unless you pull at it!
*No claws!
*five fingers
Tail~ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13192227/
*Belt loop is part of the fur/pattern so it's all one piece! No extra elastic belt loops :) just slide it on any belt!
Set specs!~
*Suit is made with Crscrafts Honey bone fur and a short pile white from fabricempire that is very realistic in texture!
*All colors besides white and light yellow of the honey bone base fur are airbrushed! Lots of airbrushing went into this guy!
Crazy note: The fur on the nose/muzzle... goes DOWN the muzzle. like a real animullll. DOWN THE MUZZLE. I did not even plan for this. It happened like magic. the fur pivot is on the brow area like real life. Still awestruck as to how that came to be but I'm stoked.

I understand you put a considerable amount of work into this, so please do not feel offended by my asking. I honestly do not know.
Why are you selling the partial for so much?
The only example I ahve to go off of is my well-done suit I got for $500. Head, body with attached tail, and hands. I really don't know what a "proper" price is for a sell...
I'm so very sorry if I've offended you at all. x.x As I said, I really don't know why a partial would sell for so much.
...
Makes me wonder how much the bodysuit to match would cost! ((All those spots...I'm srue some suit creators would go mad at the mere mention))

A partial (head, hands and tail only) Usually costs anywhere from $300 and up for myself, and $300 is if it's just one color and no markings. But I'm still fairly new to selling my creations. I feel like with the effort that went into this partial, as well as the high realistic look to it, it could easily be twice the price of her starting bid.
It's wearable art, and art is never low priced to be honest, but good art is always worth it.

An artist sells their work for what they FEEL it's worth. If you got a full for $500, and it's nice, your artists made it with near no profit and you are a lucky ass person. I myself used to underprice myself and it sucks. Asking an artist why they price their work is literally one of the most insulting, degrading comments and questions you could type out and reply with. Sure you could make it yourself or get it from someone who put less heart iand skill Into it, but this stuff takes a LOT of skill, and art all comes down this this statement: you get what you pay for.
People please THINK about what you're about to say next time you consider asking questions like this.

Well said... I was a bit shocked to see that comment.
I don't know what she (Crystumes) was asking for the partial, but her work is more than worth it! If you pay $500 for a fullsuit, I would imagine it's pretty bad quality and/or someone is just starting out and as you said, there is virtually no profit to be made on a fullsuit for $500.
I would easily pay $1,000 or more for this partial alone; the quality is there and more than worth it.

Respectfully, I know you intended no offense, and you did ask politely. Have you looked at what other super realistic, high end makers charge? Here's an example: http://www.clockworkcreature.com/calculator/
I have done finishing work on masks before and it can take a long time, and be expensive if using really nice materials. Artists that do this full time must not only make a living wage, but there are a lot of hidden expenses on top of that, such as self employment taxes, taking care of one own's healthcare insurance. No retirement fund, disability, holiday pay. I am not mentioning this to say "woe to artists!". Not at all! But a lot of the 'cost' is hidden for folks that do this full time, and they must charge appropriately. A perfectly good, well made car might cost a lower, more affordable amount, while a luxury high end car with all the bells and whistles might cost three, for times as much, right? Of course, with cars, there is some hype about the branding, but they have usually earned the hype with hard work. The analogy still mostly works though. You are paying for more time invested, often higher quality materials, and overall artistry.

Wow, so many replies.
First off, my apologies. I have a rather bad tendency to stick my foot in my mouth far too often.
Secondly, to reply to this and the previous comments from others, I did not have the intention of saying, "It costs too much for me to afford, why does it cost so much?" I could afford it, but was just curious as to why the price was what it was, and did not want to Note the artist as to why she was pricing it so high (That I would have definitely viewed as insulting, and would likely result in a black mark if I were to ever commission her in the future).
Thirdly, I'm someone who would offer something for what it costs, or free if possible. I currently have a stable job and don't make things for the profit, I make them to make others happy (Which is what I believe my purpose in life is; to spread happiness). The concept of "Making a profit" on one's work is one of the things in life I've never really understood, and am just now beginning to understand.
Crystumes, I am so very sorry if I have caused you offense with my words. D:

I can tell you from experience that she put HOURS UPON HOURS into this suit. She uses top-of-the-line materials as well. You will not find a professional fursuit builder that will sell something even halfway decent for as little as $500 because of all the time, energy, and love we put into suits. The price Crystumes is asking is extremely fair for a partial. If you want something GOOD, you spend big bucks. that's just how it works.
This is worth the price, plus more, for the time and artistry involved. Your anatomy, given the known restriction of having to put this on a goofy human shaped head, is honestly the best I've seen. Overall this is on par with the other top realistic mask builds I've seen, easily-- never feel guilty over your asking price. I hope it gets bid up!
