Now that my bout of crippling depression is out of the way, I can get back to drawing. Whoopee!

I desperately needed to change the way I did soft-shaded pics to both preserve my wrist and have an overall nicer appearance, so after marathoning The Rose of Versailles, I experimented with this fellow. This is my first time doing a non cel-shaded piece in Manga Studio 5 EX (which I use for 90% of my comics), and I'm rather pleased with the results.

Thank you! I recently came off of a "The Rose of Versailles" binge (which is a surprisingly accurate anime about the events leading up to the French Revolution) and have been wanting to draw a little something reminiscent of the era since.

Sounds like Final Fantasy Tactics! I liked the Advanced and A2. I'm fond with the Blue Mage classes.

They weren't the most durable monster allies, but their movement radius was certainly handy for getting to those hard-to-reach enemies. Meanwhile, your human characters had to spend four turns just to hop across a rock wall! D:

The perspective seems very off - but otherwise this looks awesome. The details make the character come alive and his cothing is awesome:D

I checked against my ref, and you're right. The drawing is off in a few of it's angles/proportions. As the main goal was rendering and it wasn't a paid piece, I'm not too bothered, but I'll definitely make more of an effort to make sure things are accurate in future pieces. Thanks!
