I guess it's saw wave generator, due to capacitor and FET in negative feedback of operational amplifier. It could be part of oscilloscope, but it can be anything.

now that is species you dont see often around these parts! I looove this picture. Its unqiue and the lighting is so nicely done, and I adore the little detail of her eating sourpatch, gives this drawing a very "real" feel. One of my favorite pics to pop up in my inbox thus far!
