I finally found a design for my phoenix character that I kind of like...maybe. Seriously, designing a phoenix is so hard! The whole red color wasn't working for me, so I tried orange. I like it a lot more now.
I have to say my favorite change is the wings made of fire. She no longer has physical wings, but she has the ability to control fire, and she can make wings out of fire.
I have no idea what I was aiming for with her tail. I was thinking sort of the opposite of fire, along with her hair and ear things. I'd say I'm happy with everything except her tail. But I'll figure that out eventually :)

I like the idea of making the tail kinda like smoke or soot coming off the flame. Maybe the tail is there while the wings are out?
Probably would help to have it be more like a birds tail feathers. It might seem more "even" with that.
Nonetheless, fire effects are always a + in my book!
