Holy crap this game is so awesome.
Developers today are not able to make climatic game.. even with these nextgen engines, games are crappy and boring. Of course there are few exceptions. Anyway I love oldies, old games had something more than graphics.

The weapons were the same as they were in Half-Life 1. Almost to a T. You can't insult those without insulting the first.
The enemies were good for what they were. They fit the game well, and could pose a threat to you. None of them were overpowered or pathetic.
Half-Life 2 improved on the voicework, the graphics, the controls, the level design, and even the HUD was spruced up.
Oh and it got rid of Half-Life's bullshit jumping puzzles.

lol not a T when a third of the weapons are missing such as the tau cannon though it is technically in HL2, Gluon Gun awesome weapon, hornet gun, snarks, satchel charges and laser trip mines perfect foe traps.
As for enemies the hardcore marines seem more interesting than the combine and hound eyes, bullsquids and vortagaunts livened the combat up.
The combine seem more like the storm troopers from starwars and the striders seem like there from war of the worlds, the Gargantua is a lot more scary then anything from the combine.
How are the controls better in half life 2? there the same though more sluggish and the hud maybe betterish but the HEV suit voice might aswell not exist.
Jumping puzzles a much better than doing the same shitty see-saw puzzle all the time and the graphics and voice work part is soon to be fixed ;)

Why do you think I said 'almost'?
I get the feeling you didn't even play very far into Half-Life 2. While the primary enemy tends to be Combine soldiers, there are a lot more than just those and Striders.
The controls are tighter, and you're less likely to fuck up a jump and go skidding to your death. And I don't get the point you're making with the HEV suit voice.
And no, jumping puzzles in First-person shooters are NOT better than see-saw puzzles.

Crysis is just Facry with extra eye-candy and bioshock was a big disappointment in the sense it is FAR too easy even on the hard mode.
Heres some video reviews on them
