*insert head-exploding dubstep music here*
Okay so I'm not a huge dubstep fan but I recently heard Knife Party's "Bonfire" (apparently most know it from Breaking Bad, which I've never seen but have heard of) and oh my gosh it was just... so much fun.
It sort of felt like being unmade, in the most beautiful way possible. It was perfectly disorienting, it made no sense in the most logical way possible, it was just... I dunno, it felt impossible, in a way, I can't really explain it.
Dubstep's not for everyone, not everyone likes the "WUB WUB WUB", which is perfectly okay, not everyone likes the same music. I can't say I "like dubstep" in general, really, I really can't even say that about any "category" of music. I'm just that weird kid that listens to Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony one moment and then switches to hardcore dubstep the next. I like songs for what they are, and this one is definitely one of my new favorites.
ANYWAYS ENOUGH ABOUT THE MUSIC THE ART IS WEIRD ISN'T IT. It was me just being experimental and deciding to break some rules and do something different, and yes, it was mostly influenced by the 3-D glasses effect/look, but something more specific for me, since they don't "work" on me, my eyes are bad so this is pretty much what I see when trying to watch something with those glasses. It's dizzying yet fascinating at the same time.
I was also somewhat inspired by this amazing piece of work I saw about a week ago that is just incredible and you should really watch that artist because they're so cool. It's a beautiful, blinding piece, but I wanted mine to make a little less sense, be a bit more crazy/off the scale/etc.
Either way, it's something I never do in my art "style", but it was fun to just go crazy in my art for a bit and have fun and be silly and dance to some WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB and I just had way too much fun with it. :U
