A story that I've owed my friend
niven for a little while. =3
A group of scientists make a device to corrupt some Pokemon, and while the machine explodes it does its work, and affects some local trainers...
I hope you all enjoy, and I would love to hear what you think! ^_^
Deep past the offices and hidden walls of an ordinary looking building, a group of scientists worked tirelessly to develop a new diabolical technology. “Do you think this will work?” one of the scientists asked, and that comment earned him a scornful gaze from his colleagues.
“Of course it will work, we’re geniuses after all,” one of his colleagues said with all humbleness intact.
“I guess you’re right…” the original scientist remarked, the group of scientists observing the machine chug away as within an ordinary looking fire stone sat within a multitude of crashing waves of energy. One of the scientists sitting at a computer typed away commands for the machine to follow, and as the fire stone started to glow with an eerie purple glow the computer started to spark.
“Is it working?” the leader of the group asked, from the looks of how the computer was sparking the scientists were growing nervous.
“Sir, should we be standing here with this technology?” one of the interns asked, and as he asked the machine decided to let out a particularly powerful wave. It was powerful enough that the machine decided it had enough of the waves and proceeded to self-destruct right on the scientists, and as a scream of terror rang through the air so too did a pure wave of the corruptive energy of the machine.
All across the city of Melodrake, evolutionary stones of all different sorts glowed the same ominous purple that had been on the fire stone earlier, but everyone was far too invested in paying attention to the suddenly exploded building to pay it much attention.
Todd looked up at the suddenly destroyed building and blinking a few times coughed as smoke poured into the street, and his Pokemon Growlithe started coughing along with him at the huge amount of smoke. “Come on, Growlithe! We have to get out here of!”
The Pokemon barked his approval, and as the pair ran away a stone in the trainer’s backpack started to glow with an ominous energy that it hadn’t contained before. Officer Jenny rode up on her bike as a group of soot covered scientists stumbled out of the ruins, and as she looked them over she scowled as she called in back up. “Guys, we’re going to need a bucket of handcuffs over here. I found the perpetrators of the explosion… and while you’re at it, bring in the water buckets. These guys are going to need some serious baths…”

The evolutionary stones that normally were completely harmless besides transforming Pokémon had become corrupted by the waves, and though the effects of the stones hadn’t been tested the effects that the scientists had been craving had indeed succeeded. Inside of the evolutionary stones a virus had been implanted that would corrupt any Pokémon that was evolved by the stone and turn them into a corrupted goo version of their evolution that would have the sole purpose of turning humans into goo Pokémon such as themselves, as well as following their masters’ commands.
Todd and Growlithe walked out of town glancing back to look at the smoke and frowned as firefighters went into to get rid of any fire. “I think we’ll just camp out in the woods tonight, what do you think of that, Growlithe?” The Pokemon barked in affirmation, and the pair went deeper into the forest to find a good spot to rest for the night.
Growlithe lit a fire with his ember attack, and as Todd built up his tent the Pokémon noticed that his trainer’s backpack was glowing. The dog barked a few times at his trainer gaining Todd’s attention, and as he walked over the glow stopped in time for the trainer to not notice. “What is it, Growlithe?”
The fire type whined as he nosed at the bag causing Todd to smirk as he remembered what he had in the bag. “Growlithe, do you want to evolve?” Growlithe whined in frustration as he tried to explain to his trainer that something was wrong, but Todd was far too thick to understand his Pokemon’s concern.
Todd unzipped the bag and pulled out the fire stone, and Growlithe whined in a concerned tone, but he couldn’t deny his own interest in evolving into an Arcanine. After all it was every self-respecting Pokémon’s dream to evolve into their later forms, and to evolve right now would make him even more powerful. “Are you ready, Growlithe?” Todd asked as he kneeled next to his Pokémon.
The dog yipped in excitement as his natural want to evolve overrode any concern that he had been feeling before, and leaning towards the fire stone Growlithe yipped in shock as a purple spark flickered across the surface of the stone but it was too late as the stone touched his body. Normally evolving wasn’t a painful process for any Pokemon, but Growlithe felt that something was very wrong as his body not only grew but took on an almost rubberlike quality to it. Todd stepped back while concern passed across his features. “Growlithe…?”
Growlithe’s body grew into that of an Arcanine’s, but instead of being a regular one his fur took on a glistening look and his body filled in with a rubber mix while his mind was corrupted. Arcanine blinked a few times as his eyes’ pupils turned into a red color that didn’t appear natural. Arcanine knew what he had to do for his masters that made him, and he growled as he turned towards Todd. “Growl… Arcanine, what are you doing?”
The giant rubber hound lunged forward and bit Todd’s hand causing the human to flinch in pain and shock, “Arcanine!” Todd let out a moan though as his hand throbbed, and from where the bite marks on his hand little beads of red goo poured out appearing similar to Arcanine’s now gooey fur.
Already through Todd’s body the goo flooded through his bloodstream causing him to appear less human by the second as his skin and clothing was ridden over by a gooey red fur coat that resembled Arcanine’s own, and Todd scratched as his face as his mouth and face disappeared under a glob of the rubber substance and an Arcanine’s familiar face formed with the red eyes.
Todd winced as his skin felt as if it were on fire from the burning sensation of transforming, and his mind was also under assault from the corrupting effects of the rubber. Suddenly a voice came to him, and it didn’t take him too long to realize who it was. “Yes, brother… become my twin so we can help the master…”
“A… Arcanine?” Todd yipped, but already he was seeing Arcanine as a sibling rather than just his Pokemon.
“Brother,” Arcanine growled in a cruel way. Todd knew that this wasn’t like his original Pokemon, and that the stone must’ve done something, but it was becoming so hard to think… “Let me think for you,” Arcanine said.
“Okay… Brother,” the new Arcanine said as the human parts of the newly transformed Arcanine faded away in favor of a fully changed rubber Pokemon.
“Come, our masters have been imprisoned,” Arcanine said as he pointed towards town. The twin nodded dully as he found himself without his own opinion, and that his brother’s was the only opinion worth listening to. The pair ran towards the town leaving drips of their rubber bodies, and even as they ran other Pokemon stumbled onto corrupted evolutionary stones that were corrupting them into more subservient Pokemon.
