For color sketches like this, watercolor or some other medium (oil or acrylic) worked like watercolor is a nice effect. I can do more "painterly" work as well, see some of my stuff way back in my gallery, but such work isn't nearly as quick and easy and I'd ask some real money for such work.

I see! Well, watercolour would be fine for the commission I'm asking. :) May also be interested in a traditional oil painting in future.

Would you settle for something that looked oil painty? In acrylic and/or watercolor? I don't currently have much in the way of useable oils. Look into the way back parts of my gallery for techniques and effects, odds are that the medium is not what you think it might be.

Easily done, and that is actually watercolor, multiple layers built up with clear acrylic airbrushed between to hold each layer down so they won't lift and blend in ways I don't want.

Oh sure, just credit it in the title. Not just for me but in general so viewers will know right off where work comes from. Going to other's galleries and seeing all kinds of great, but often mystery art can be frustrating.

The lyric of "Fear no danger! Shun o labor! Pick up rifle,pike and saber!" comes to mind with this lil' guy. Great work on him, the uniform, and the cannon.

I was a re-enactor for something like ten years, Company I, 7th Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry.

Very cool. The closest I've done to re-enacting was work at the Renaissance fair, but there were some folks doing that stuff when I went to Gettysburg years ago.
