The Big Ludmilla Class Matter/Antimatter Demonstrator is the so-called 'Big Sister' to the Little Nell and Little Nell II. She is equipped with warp nacelles unlike the ships in the Little Nell series. The UES Big Ludmilla disappeared during the start of the Earth-Romulan War and was found several decades later, adrift in an asteroid field, battered and with signs of Romulan weapons fire. The damaged hull was eventually towed back to Earth by the USS Gallacci and restored for display at the orbital Starfleet Museum.

Apologies my young friend. Chris Foss was a "Space Artist" who gained notoriety in the late 1970s with his paintings of brightly colored space ships, most of which were exploding or meeting their doom in asteroid fields. Last I saw of his works were in a book where he was instructing students, and taking their best works, (The ones that most resembled his painting style.) and claiming it was his own. Once the big "Science Fiction Fad" of the late 1970s faded out, his works became obscure. The bright colors and bold checkerboard patterns on this image would have fit well with Mr. Foss' designs. Let me look on the Images page and see if I can link you to his works.
Ok. My design is meant to compliment designs on this site: http://www.starfleet-museum.org/
