I like the thorough fur. Nobody ever does that and it bugs me.

One of the reasons I love scaled things is they're smooth, but you always see all this exaggerated stuff pretending to be perfectly sleek. It's just not right. Where's all the dander and shedding?

This captures that sort of thing just right, and beyond appreciating that someone (especially you) gave out an unintended reality check on fur being FUZZY, it's also masterfully done. Be proud!

If my cat is any example, just draw strands from an invisible 'skin' starting at the outside, and go until you draw strands coming from the frontmost part of the critter :0

you could try drawing all the white using grey fur *cause it's easier to texture* and then use an overlay layer later on to recolor it white?
