Phew.
This piece is a history of bad fuckups and almost successful recoveries (and... less successful ones, unfortunately), but overall I'm not unhappy with it. Which is saying something. I seem to be slowly, painstakingly getting a grip on watercolors. At freaking last.
I started it a good six months ago, but I never got around to fixing the last small details. Because when attempting to fix small details, I still stand a good chance of fucking up and making things worse, and I have not yet learned to quit while I'm ahead (or not too far behind, as the case may be).
Watercolors with tiny bits of acrylics highlights.
After Dragon's Toy 2, by Baron Engel (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/993231/), except that his is much much *much* better, so you should get a print from him.
I love this piece; it conveys a feeling of relish in the joy of flight which resonates strongly with me. The limited edition print of it is the first piece I ever bought at an art show, and when my art teacher asked us to choose a painting to copy for practice, I picked this one at once, even though it was, frankly, somewhat beyond my abilities; but then, it's probably better to practice with pieces that speak to you the right way.
