[WARNING! WARNING! WALL OF TEXT! YE BE WARNED!]
"Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. She wore a hood of crimson and was known throughout the village as Little Red Riding Hood."
It was a tale Faith had heard many times as a child, but she always knew it was just a fairytale. Or so she thought, until she found Little Red's old hood and heard a different story. Red's hood was not crimson but white as snow, and when time to kill the Big Bad Wolf it was she who lifted the woodsman's axe and with a lucky strike dug it into the Big Bad Wolf's neck. His blood stained the hood and cloak,= turning it blood red and with his dying breath cursed Red Riding Hood, saying whenever those of the fair sex were to wear the hood that they would become the new monster in the dark forest, ensuring there would always be a Big Bad Wolf.
If this tale is any more true than the others is up for debate, but as time passed whenever a woman would put on the red cloak, they would become a monstrous and powerful werewolf that would leave a bloody trail in its path until it was finally killed. Despite the years and toll on the hood, it couldn't be destroyed with such a vengeful curse still on it. Until one woman, through faith and strength of will fought the curse and destroyed the madness it brought. Still she was cursed with the body of a werewolf, but her mind was hers and she took it to keep the hood safe.
Eventually the hood made it overseas, into the hands of a wife and mother. When her husband, an American soldier in the Revolutionary War, was killed by the German mercenaries hired by the British she took it upon herself to avenge his death. Donning the hood, she become a werewolf and slaughtered the ones who killed her husband. In sign of penance, she refocused her duties to protecting the innocent from the more supernatural threats stirred up from the war. She took the name Red Riding Wolf, to honor where the hood's origin and what she was.
Since then, the hood has been passed down from one Red Riding Wolf to the next. The hood traveled back and forth from the Americas to England and even to France before coming back to the US. Since then it's been a few decades since the last Red Riding Wolf. Until Faith found the hood. She thought it was just an old dusty prop costume, until she found the letter hidden in the cloak itself detailing the story of the hood and the stories of the previous Red Riding Wolfs there had been. All of this penned by the one before her.
While unsure at first, Faith eventually let curiosity win and since then taken up the mantle of Red Riding Wolf. While she occasionally deals with the thugs and other problems of the modern world, she finds herself dealing more and more with the supernatural part of the world. Often having to be the one to police or even stop supernatural creatures from attacking or feeding on humans.
She finds herself honored to be a would-be superhero and protector, and being the 9th Red Riding Wolf. She hopes to uphold the memory of those who wore the hood before her and look as tough as possible while being a werewolf.
