Attention voyagers! This is your Starship Commander speaking. The forward sensors have detected an unexpected asteroid shower at our destination in the P-RV-14 sector. We will be changing course, diverting to an alternate destination in the P-NB-14 nebula.

That's right, as we announced at our BBQ last Sunday, FurWAG 3000 is changing location! We are pleased to announce that FurWAG will be moving to the ibis Styles hotel in Northbridge, only 1.5km from the Perth city centre.

FurWAG will still be taking place from the 3rd to 5th of October, and the registration fees will remain the same: $80 for Standard registrations, and $240 for Super Sponsors.

We decided to make this move for a number of reasons. The ibis Styles is able to offer us a better price for accommodation, with Standard rooms at $149/night and Superior rooms at $169/night. Both Standard and Superior Rooms come with a queen bed or twin single beds, and include continental breakfast.

We were both surprised and overjoyed to meet the capacity of the convention space last year! The ibis Styles will give us room to grow. They are also used to hosting fandom conventions, having hosted WA convention Swancon for a number of years.

The lack of dining options near the venue last year was another issue. The ibis Styles is located in Northbridge, with many restaurants, small bars and cafes around, as well as a number of nightclubs for those wanting to kick on after the convention closes. The hotel will be working on a special lunch menu with us, so we'll have a range of options suitable for congoers.

We've listened to your feedback and we feel that the ibis Styles is a great option for us this year, and hopefully in years to come too!
