This is a sketch I did while at Babscon last weekend. It was a bit of trick since it was done on two separate pages of my sketch book that I had scan and then line up to make one image. The image shows a casual moment in my Equestria dreamscape.
While Applejack is not sure what is going on in Petina's head link some times she's become pretty good friends with Carousel. AJ is always willing to help another earth pony who wants learn more about farming and working with the land. link
One afternoon Rainbow Dash and I flew out to Sweet Apple Acres to pay AJ and the Apple family a visit, when we arrived we found AJ and Carousel engaged in feisty match of Barn Ball. Barn Ball is a casual earth pony game that can be described as being a cross between volleyball, soccer, and hacky sack. The rules for Barn Ball are simple, don't let ball touch the ground and the ball must stay in motion. You can kick the ball with your hoofs, bounce it off your head or bump it with your rump as Carousel is doing.
Grabbing the ball will unicorn magic is a no-no, and while it is technically not illegal it is considered poor form for pegasi to use their wings either to fly to the ball or to use their wings to hit it. A game may have a predetermined playing field and if the ball or a pony steps out of it play halts, or it may have a free-form area where the objective is just to keep the ball in motion for as long as possible.
To be continued.

My guess for unicorns would be either games that use implements, (sticks, scoops, nets[1], etc), where you cannot levitate the balls directly[2], or ones with multiple balls so that it isn't simply a test of who's magic is stronger.
Other possibilities would be alternating roles like in baseball or only being able to use your magic on your part of the field[3].
[1] Think of a cut-off lacrosse stick.
[2] There may even be balls that are either enchanted or made of of specific materials so that they can't be levitated.
[3] Again, probably enforced magically at the elite levels.
