I have a new Video camera so here is my first feature film with it! Taken at the
MNFurs Mill City Ruins Fursuit Romp last weekend.
Yeah, its quite obvious I need some more practice with it. It is the most stable and the shakiest film I've taken so far. Remarkably stable in some areas where there should have been a lot of handshake and more shake when it was a stationary position. I think I got most of the shake in the shots later on when I started getting tired or right away when I was adjusting.
It was a blast filming with a shoulder mount camera for run and gun event videography like this, and it felt very natural. I just need to get used to the camera. First impressions: camera is VERY sharp to the point where it looks like its been oversharpened.
There is some grain to it, not bad but some. Contrast is nice considering this was a varied light sort of day. I didn't have really any video at all that was blown out. Was all pretty consistant. Considering I only used the built in mic the audio came out amazing when it wasn't really windy.

Yeah, its now one of the better areas of downtown Minneapolis. Shady area becomes the Warehouse district where the bars/ "lower end" clubs and Strip clubs are >.> This are is very young and fairly liberal. No one really bats an eye at us when we were out there. And you see lots of cyclists.
Yah, even the warehouse district seems to be getting WAY gentrified compared to when I lived there. I used to have a favourite place at 226 Washington Ave N called ACME Electronics*. Boarded up windows, trees on rooftops that weren't there for garden reasons etc. The SOO Line 'Hole in the Wall' still existed, the GN depot was vacant.
