Harvester of Life
This piece kept me busy all weekend and killed a god deal of my green pencils. *g*
So yeah... Somehow I thought it would be neat to play with the idea of reproduction and make something new. I thought of frogs and their jelly eggs and I think I remembered a documentary about a frog species laying their eggs on/ in leaves. I liked the idea and so I tried to put it in here.
Hrrr... I love dragons... but they're such a pain the ass to draw. X3

Ö_________Ö Boah... hammer ^____^
As alway an abolutly amazing and stunning work sweetheart. Thiose shiny things and the eggs. It looks so real. You know I always adored your backgrounds, but this one is just insanely stunning *dies from pretty detail overload* And those pretty shiny gold-things. So pretty ^____^
One of the very few dragon faves I'm gonna have XD

I used loootsa references for this one by my favourite dragon artists for this one and I really really wanted it to be something that can live up to his art. Probably a reason why it won't be sold at AC (the price ^^;).
All the details in this one were murder, especially the little golden ornaments. because the piece isn't larger then DIN A5. Xo *hand-killer*
*wiggles from the left and to the right feeling the more honoured* ^____^

I think I was just too lazy to make them really small and neat looking. XD The piece is rather small and I really tortured my hand over it enough as it is. The source of inspiration for the scales though I think was a pineapple. At least that's what I was thinking of all the time when I coloured them. ^^
There are frogs like that out there that lay their eggs like that. This however is done differently but is really cool still, really does take a lot of green but the work you put into it really paid off in the end as it turned out great. The wings are espescially very well done and show a lot of skill.
Ah ! The succulent, rich colouration ! The tricky concept of supreme magnitude and wit ! The complex, sophisticated background and tiny yet meticulously rendered details ! The scales ! The many of them ! The commenter's verbal ineptitude ! The lights ! THE LIGHTS !!!
But seriously, it's a breath-taking piece, I'm in love with every aspect of it.
The wing-webbing may be interpreted as an uphill road, which furthers this picture's depth and meaning. It's really a glowy shiny miracle of a drawing.
Thank you so much for sharing this gem with us !
