In honor of being able to find a replacement adapter for the violin microphone I use (not cheap to buy new!), I hadn't been able to use it for recording before, but now, I'm happy that it's in full service, now, and decided to take it for a test run with some Edith Piaf.
The piano part is quantised thanks to the rather nifty program EZ Keys, but all other orchestral parts, I've personally arranged.

Thanks very much! As far as what equipment I used to work with, the microphone is a DPA 4099V violin microphone, plugged into a Focusrite Forte for the audio interface. Then, during recording, ran the violin through some EQ presets for vocals to help curb some of the unwanted frequencies. Also, the sound I tend to go for is a warm, lush sound by ear, so that's usually what I try to equalize it to- something as close to what I hear when I'm playing live. For having recorded this in my bedroom, I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.
Dear gat-dang-sonofabitch-howmahgawr. Gripping my head right now.
I've been going all bonkers how much I dig your stuff this past half hour, and then I come across your recording here of "La Vie En Rose." Edith Piath is an absolute favorite of mine; I listen to her almost daily and have even looked quite a bit into her history, (she even had a few songs dedicated to the Legion!)
This is fantastic. I only wish this was on youtube somewhere so I could share the hell out of it on facebook or something. 90 views is a disgustingly low count for something this great, at least in this Thyladerp's opinion.
