World in Pieces
Hello, my name is Alkalla, and for me, in my time it is the end of the wold. Not long ago a group of men came up with a way to treat cancer, but it had a nasty side effect, it mutated the cells of anyone who took it, it turned them into awful monsters with no emotions, and only base instincts. There was only one man who ever survived the treatment. That man would be me! Not all good news though, the mutants are running around most of Canada at this point and I, and who ever elss survived the war that started to kill them, have to run around and try to kill as many of them as we can and try to make a home for ourselves or we can flee to the safe zones, but for me there is no fun in running. So let me tell you the storie of a man who is trying to survive the end of the world.
Alkalla was walking around aimlessly, swinging his sword at bits of debris every now and then. He didn't have to worrie about the sword chiping or breaking because it was made of special steel that could not chip or break. Alkalla was slightly aware of the fact that he was being followed, he did not mind it though, it would give him something to take his mind off of the depressing scenery. He turned the corner and waited with his black katona riased above his head. A little figure came around the corner. Alkalla stoped his swing mid way through. "What the hell are you doing here kid? You could have gotten yourself killed!" Alkalla shouted when he say the little kit, who stood in front of the wolf and staired up at him with his eyes starting to water. "Where are your parents little guy, they should have gotten you to the safe zone by now." Alkalla said to the kid, and then he thought shit! Maybe they foregot him or left him behind! Idiot he probably has no where elss to go! The kitten proved him right. He opend his mouth and the smallest toned squeak came out, which supprised the wolf. "I don't know where my mommy and daddy are, can you help me find them?" Alkalla was not inclined to have a traveling partiner, he liked to be alone, he had been for most of his life, but there was something about this kid that he could not say no to.
"Yeah ok kid, I can help you find them. Where did you see them last?" Alkalla held out a paw and the kid took it, then he said " I saw them at my house last, I was at school when it happened and they never came to get me, I don't know where they are." Alkalla looked down at the kid, so he had never been with them when it happened, they might not have been able to get to him in time and had to get out instead. Or they might not be alive. He hated the thought and he tryed to let the kid know that his parents might not be able to be found. "Hey kid, you... Uh... You know that some times in an air raid... Uh... Well people don't alwayse make it out." The kid blinked at him. Then he nodded. He seemed to understand what the wolf was trying to say.
"Well I think this place is a good place to stop for the night. What about you?" Alkalla turned to the little cat who was looking around. "It looks dark." Was all the kid said. "Well yeah, but we can make a fire to keep the dark at bey, besides this is the best place to be, tall office buildings have the best look-out points! We'll be able to see for miles." Alkalla explained. He knew that the kid had been walking for a long time, and he probably was not as used to it as he was, so he figured that it was the best place to stop and make sure that the kid was ok. Hell I don't even know this kids name. He leed the kid up the stairs to one of the top floors of the building and got some wood, he found a lighter in one of the old desks, then he took some old paper and made a small pile of wood with the paper in the center, then he took the lighter and set the paper on fire, it did not take long for the whole thing to start on fire. "There we are! Hey kid I never got you name. What do they call you anyway?" Alkalla asked. The kit looked up at him with wide eyes. "Oh, my name is sam." Alkalla held out a paw. "Well Sam, My name Is Alkalla, nice to meet you." Sam took his paw. "I'm sorry that you had to go through this, it is not easy for most adults to survive as long as you have, you did good kid." When Alkalla said that the kit started to cry out. Alkalla rubbed his back in ryhthmicly "Sorry to make you feel bad kid."Alkalla said in a low voice. Just then he heard a nose come from somewhere in the building, a low pitched howl that chilled his bones.
Alkalla went riged and picked up his blade. "Stay here kid! Stay out of the way, stay quiet and try not to move. I'll be back soon." He started to walk to the door, not even checking to see if the kid had done what he had been told. Alkalla opened the door and shut it behind them. then noticed the vents. If they smell me up here they'll come for the kid, I gotta leed them away. He opened the vent and crawled inside it. He had been crawling for a long time when he saw a mutant mroaming around on one of the floors, it was one of the mutants that he knew hunted alone. He opened the grate and snuck down behind the mutant, it sniffed the air, not taking any notice of his scent. Alkalla raised the blade above his head and brought it down and cut the mutant in two, he cleaned the sword off and started to walk back to the room.

A sorie I came to make because I headr that some of the best stories are the ones that the auther wrote becuase it was the type that the auther liked to read, I hate to read stories about the end of the world so I thought that I might try to write one to see if it was true.
