Trillum secret

The giant white trillium is Ontario's provincial flower. And in about a month all our local woods will carpeted with them in an annual display. Keep you eyes peeled for the tiny white dragons that like to nest in them.

We get a lot of Red trillium in our woods.. haven't seen any dragons on those though, pitty they're really cute.

Trilliums are illegal to pick in Michigan (and Minnesota, only red trilliums are illegal to pick in New York). Any damage to the above-ground plant can kill the underground rhizome (like a root).

(I rather like driving along and seeing trilliums flowering in the woods off to the side. And yes, I'm from Michigan, too.)

I love drawing garden dragons! The best part is when someone admires the picture and does not even notice that there is a dragon in it!
This piece is really lovely, and the dragons are a hidden surprize!
