And here we are, as the flareon's finally stretched to their limit, unable to do anything but sit on top of their painfully tight belly. At this point, there's only one thing left to happen: that fire has to go somewhere.
I definitely do think that I have this whole "roundness" thing down a little more consistently, now. It's not perfect, but it does actually look like the flareon's belly has depth to it to some degree or another. Shading weird objects like large bellies is difficult to get the hang of. I think that I did the expression nicely, too.
I really don't know if I want to keep doing this "stress lines" thing to show that a character's belly is at its limit. It definitely makes it looked stretched, but I've also seen a few people speak of how they disliked it. I might just keep doing it until I run into somebody saying so on one of my submissions.
Like usual, any comments and/or advice is appreciated. Feedback gives me more to work with, which means more furry things becoming bloated beyond capacity (be it of a non-PG nature of otherwise).

I'm not sure if it achieved the effect that you were talking about, but thanks for pointing out just how small those lines were. I had intended to make them bigger as the flareon's belly got bigger, but I honestly just forgot about it. Does it look any better now?
Well, that's what I'm going for, so many thanks for that. I do wish that there was more inflation art that emphasized the whole "about to pop" idea. I just make the art that I want to see more of, really, and knowing that I've accomplished the desired effect is satisfying, to say the least. Now to actually apply it to something more anthropomorphic in later draw-things.
I'm not entirely sure what expression I'll be doing for the pop. There's not much that I've seen of it before, unfortunately. I do like to focus on the character's expression, though, even if they're supposed to be enjoying it. I wouldn't think that it would be easy to be pushed past the point of bursting without wincing a bit.
Oh, indeed it is. A character being filled without being pushed past their limits is little other than a tease to me. That's why I usually at least imply that a character will probably burst. What's the fun in somebody being filled up if they're not going to go all the way with it?
Since so many people are commenting I think I'll toss my two cents in as well! For one I just wanna say that I think this sequence has been really good, and that it looks really clean and crisp with your style. Having a pokemon have their attacks plugged up is a means of inflation I wish people explored more. I think the redness on the belly should be a bit more faint in the beginning, maybe with an earlier start as well, and a touch more pink. As for your comments on the 3rd image, I think any pose is fine really, and that you should just do what feels natural to you. Personally, I feel that stretch lines are only disliked if overused and in the improper places. I think they'd go best sorta around the top half of the belly closer to Flareon. I hate having to use other people to get my vision across, but I De-Flator uses them quite well. As for your planned ending, I can't say I'll stick around for that, since I'm mostly a fan of the character being right at their limit and never really have been a huge fan of popping, but like you said, that fire has to go somewhere! (And I'm pretty sure you're not up for the latter option!) I hope this helps you out in some way
The idea of creatures being filled up by something that they generate themselves has been something that I've been fond of long before I even got into inflation to the extent that I have now. It's somewhat silly and just seems like such a natural situation.
Whenever I use anything with any degree of alpha transparency (like a character being filled to the point of transparency), I seem to make it a bit too opaque. I'll have to work on that, I suppose. As for the shade, this was the best that I could get for a flareon, probably because I had already envisioned it as being red in the first place. You're probably right about pink being better for other creatures, though.
Yeah, the thought crossed my mind of putting the lines more towards the centre similar to De-Flator. He's actually my favourite artist on FA, and I've taken a lot of inspiration from his style due to him conveniently having something cartoon-y that I can try to learn from. I'll probably experiment with it in the near future, as it'll probably look a lot more natural than what I did here.
Anyhow, thanks for all of your thoughts. Comments are the things that I value most in terms of viewer interaction, and those that actually let me know what to work on are even better. I do hope to improve my art with the advice that people like you give me.
