Greetings, readers, and welcome to the eighth post of Chapter 5 of Fathom's Phantoms.
The Bridge crew takes their turn in the spotlight for this chapter, with a focus on things from Commander Vanessa 3J's point-of-view. When an indicator goes off, announcing the launch of an escape pod, a quick brainstorming session forms in an attempt to figure out who, what, and why.
There are two more posts in this chapter as things begin to go from bad to worse. This next post is dedicated to casualties, and will focus on a section of the station where more death is going to occur. Pro: more character focus! Con: a character may be part of that death!
This next vote is for all readers. What section of the station will be the focus of the next post?
a) Executive Deck: Xander, Theo, Carol, Marco, Gertrude, Xavier, Henry, Ozwald, Kenneth Nathaniel, Dr. Makowi, and Pvt McGilvoy are at risk.
b) Central Hub: Oni Dumah, Henry Maxfield, Helen, Arni, Carlton, Gary, and Lewis are at risk.
c) Transit Station: Harold Cruise and Dr. Victoria Carter will die.
d) Ghoul Decks: Dr. Cortez, Cpt. Collins, Lt. Collins, #17, and "Burger" are at risk.
e) Sub Levels: Caor, Sean, Jeremiah, Dmitri, Wesley, and Joul are at risk
f) Landing Pad: Sgt Kamrn, Mol, "Sherman", Kyle, 1CG Tirzsark, Sgt 4523, Lt. Hayward, and Sgt. "Gunner" are at risk. TWO will die from this group if chosen.
If a Contributing Reader votes for their own group and that group is selected, their character will gain 1 Bonus Point (if they survive)! The first two Contributing Readers to vote may also spend 1 Bonus Point to have their character automatically survive if their group is chosen (point must be used before more than 3 votes are made-- and is used regardless of the outcome).
Votes and decisions are due by Thursday, May 1st.
