Half the time, I don't know either...
But I hope this project works out great for you. I'm sure you'll sell buckets of copies.
Assuming this one goes well (and you survive the next couple issues), what would you ideally want to do next? A private project? Self-written comics? More collaborative projects?
Have you been managing to have fun in between the huge grind of massive art output requirements?

I've got quite a few ideas lined up actually. Me and
kerplunk are attempting a few game design projects, working with a program called Adventure Game Studio. It lets you program games like the old-school PC adventure games such as Secret of Monkey Island or Full Throttle, Kings Quest, etc. It's a fun little collaborative venture that were hoping will broaden both of or skills(his being audio design).
I've been practicing painting again, as it's been far too long since I've touched my old paints. I'm going to start forcing myself to paint a bit every day or so. I really want to start fine tuning my painterly abilities.
I also want to get a webcomic rolling in the near future, mostly because I've wanted to start writing Lupine and Scott stories for ages now. Aside from that, there are a few small stories I'd like to write out and paint.
Once I feel like I have enough content to warrant it, I want to try to get a website rolling. It could be a site that focuses on
kerplunk's music and my comics, and all of our collaborative efforts. That way it could potentially serve as a fancy portfolio for the both of us.
These ideas are pretty far down the line so far though. I still have more Heathen City and Banished! to work on consistantly. At some point I'd like to dare to venture into creating a comic of my own for publication, but that would have to be a while after my HC work is done.

Yeah, dude, that sounds awesome. I've been thinking of different projects here myself, but realistically I know that my day job will get busy again and anything I'd planned would get shelved, so I'm hesitant to get too into them now. For the time being, I'm trying to just push as much quick painting as I can to up my speed so when the time comes I WILL be able to crank out a larger project in a realistic timespan.
It sounds like you're approaching your prospective new projects thoughtfully, and I'm sure that by the end of HC, between that and Banished!, you'll be incredibly natural and fluid in your style. If you can add a level up in painting skills too, then so much the better. I look forward to seeing what you come up with ^_^
