This was from a dream and I have a bit of a story to go with it.
From all the dark things that are placed in our lives some times it alters our perception on things. Some times it changes us, emotionally, or physically. The wings are depicted here as the easy way out but comes at a price of pain as they grow. The wings were going to be angelic but I thought the demonic wings were good at depicting the dark side of things.
This isn't a change that lasts forever. Its something she can control only if she goes through great emotional or physical pain. Like a transformation.
